COMPANY BACKGROUND

Clin-Path Associates, P.L.C., located in Tempe, Arizona, within the Phoenix metropolitan area, is a pathology group practice composed of 28 Board Certified physicians, 6 certified pathologists' assistants and a Ph.D. The Group was incorporated in 1974, under the direction of Larry D. Shaw, M.D. and Louis A. Rosati, M.D. Since that time, the company has grown to serve a variety of surgical and endoscopy centers, physicians' offices, and hospitals throughout the State. The Group’s depth of expertise is unmatched in the State and includes several specialty divisions:

Gastrointestinal and Hepatopathology Department: This service is supported by five specially trained pathologists of whom three are fellowship-trained gastrointestinal pathologists. The department specializes in the area of endoscopic biopsies, liver biopsies, and GI resection specimens from both the hospital and outpatient setting.

Dermatopathology Department: The department is staffed by five sub-specialty Board Certified Dermatopathologists. The focus of this service is to provide expertise in the diagnosis of diseases of the skin. This service is provided to hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers and physician office practices.

Cytopathology: This service utilizes six Board Certified Cytopathologists to diagnose body fluids, aspirate smears and brushings. The department provides the core of expertise within Sonora Quest Laboratories as it relates to the diagnosis of pap smears. A fine needle service is provided by the Group at Banner Desert Medical Center.

Hematopathology: The department is staffed by four Board Certified Hematopathologists who work with oncologists in the community to provide diagnostic services related to diseases in the blood, bone marrow and lymph nodes. The service evaluates over 2000 challenging oncological cases per year.

Pediatric Pathology: Our Group is fortunate to have a Fellowship Trained Pediatric Pathologist on staff available to diagnose and consult on all biopsies and surgical specimens obtained from children.

Clin-Path Associates, P.L.C. is a member of a limited liability partnership with Phoenix Pathologists, Ltd, Tucson Pathology Associates, P.C.,  Pathology Services, P.C. and Sun City Pathologists, P.C. to form Pathology Specialists of Arizona, LLP. This alliance was instrumental in providing medical direction for the integrated laboratories of Banner Health Systems of Arizona and its commercial laboratory, Sonora Quest Laboratories. This integration provided a significant opportunity for reduction in laboratory expenses by consolidation, standardization, improved productivity and efficiencies through economies of scale.

Today, Clin-Path Associates, P.L.C. is the largest private pathology practice in the state, supported by its pathologist owned histology laboratory, Clin-Path Diagnostics, LLC.
